Research
The focus of the Centre for Stem Cell Research is on translating basic research into clinical and commercial outcomes through collaboration of its members, and with external partners.
The Centre for Stem Cell Research performs internationally recognised and awarded research in areas such as the isolation of adult and cord blood stem cells, clinical applications including potential cures for stroke damage and cardiac repair, as well as novel approaches to diseases such as cystic fibrosis and leukaemia.
The current research programs are:
- Stroke
- Cardiac repair
- Tissue repair
- Blood disorders
- Cystic fibrosis and other inherited disorders
- Immune diseases
- Transplantation research
- Developmental biology
